Leveraging R&D


Over the past decades, Israel has enjoyed international status as a place where technological innovation can thrive. It has developed an impressive high-tech industrial sector based on advanced knowledge and technology, and is currently among the world’s ten most advanced countries in scientific/technological research.

However, there is a possibility that global competition in many R&D fields and lack of coherent public policy on R&D could weaken Israel’s current position in a few years time. The Israel 2028 plan outlines a number of key recommendations that could prevent this, including ensuring the availability of a technologically-trained labor force, enhancing the competitive free business environment, and promoting basic and applied research at universities to facilitate transfer to Industry.
