IsraelStrategist.com Report, Dec. 7, 2011–On November 30 at the National Press Club in Washington D.C., the U.S.-Israel Science and Technology Foundation (USISTF) launched its first annual “U.S.-Israel Innovation Index”. The index compiles three years of data on the “innovation relationships between the U.S. and Israel alongside that of the U.S. and Germany, Switzerland, Finland, Sweden, Singapore, Korea, United Arab Emirates and Chile.” The data comes from technological, scientific and economic innovation indicators such as co-patents, cross-listed companies on national stock exchanges and cross border business investment.
Speakers at the event included Phillip Bond, Former President of Tech America and Former Undersecretary of the Technological Administration in the Department of Commerce; Eli Groner, Minister of Economic Affairs for the Embassy of Israel; and Tamar Guy, Executive Director of the America-Israel Chamber of Commerce in Tel Aviv. In attendance were over 70 people representing the Embassies of Spain, Italy, Korea, Canada, Denmark, Sweden, Germany and Israel, and U.S. Government and industry leaders.
