Physical Infrastructure
Advanced physical infrastructures like roads and railways, air and seaports, and energy and water distribution systems are essential for maintaining a modern economy. Israel’s infrastructure and economy have continued to grow along with the country’s prosperity, but without the level of comprehensive strategic planning needed to identify and keep open options for long-term development.
The Israel 2028 plan acknowledges the need for advanced infrastructure planning, and outlines a number of key recommendations for ensuring the intelligent growth of Israel’s physical infrastructure in the years to come. These recommendations include creating a government body that would be responsible for interdisciplinary strategic planning, developing transportation infrastructure according to national needs and priorities, and ensuring that infrastructure development will be responsive to environmental concerns and requirements.
